The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, has opened registration for the 4th edition of the Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport 2025, themed “Dubai Autonomous Transport Zone.”

How to Register

Participants can sign up for the challenge via the official website of this international competition (https://sdchallenge.awardsplatform.com).

The finalists will be disclosed in October of this year, with the winner business being announced in September 2025 at the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport. The winning company will get a prize of $3 million.

The fourth edition of the challenge introduces a new competitive format based on the topic “Dubai Autonomous Transport Zone.” This demonstrates the RTA’s commitment to strengthening Dubai’s leadership in autonomous transportation technologies on all levels.

The challenge merges many integrated transportation systems into a single region, allowing customers to use a variety of self-driving forms of transportation.

Participants can enter the competition as a group of firms or as a single organization that combines numerous autonomous transportation systems under one service umbrella.

All prominent firms with experience in self-driving vehicles and mobility system integration are encouraged to participate.

The Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport is part of RTA’s aim to raise Dubai’s profile in self-driving transport and aligns with the government’s goal of converting 25% of all mobility journeys in Dubai to self-driving trips by 2030.

This challenge acts as a global platform, bringing together experts, technology manufacturers, researchers, and academics to develop the best ideas and visions that support the Dubai government’s goals, the RTA’s strategic goal, “Smart Dubai,” and the government’s Smart City initiative.
