Google has officially introduced Veo, a cutting-edge generative AI video model for businesses, via a closed preview on the Vertex AI platform. Veo, which was debuted in May 2023, is capable of making high-quality 1080p films in a variety of visual and cinematic genres using simple text or picture cues. This puts Veo ahead of competitors such as OpenAI’s Sora, which has yet to enter the market.
What Can Veo Do?
Veo can create films of more than one minute duration, running seamlessly and with life-like features that are quite difficult to distinguish from standard video. It enables content development, advertising, branding, and other uses by enterprise customers, using AI that enables faster and visually appealing creation of videos.
Safeguards and Innovation
Google has included controls into Veo to prevent abuse, such as creating damaging or unauthorised content. In addition, all outputs are watermarked with DeepMind’s SynthID to prevent misrepresentation and safeguard intellectual property.
Imagen 3 Joins the Lineup
Google, like Veo, is increasing access to its Imagen 3 text-to-image technology, which includes prompt-based editing and the option to incorporate distinctive branding features. These technologies seek to transform how organizations produce and customize visual content.
Why Businesses Should Care : VEO
Generative AI technologies such as Veo are already demonstrating real-world advantages. According to Google, 86% of organisations who use generative AI report greater income, and campaigns like Coca-Cola’s holiday advertising demonstrate the financial viability of AI-generated content.
With Veo in the limelight, Google is setting the standard for generative AI, allowing competitors like OpenAI to play catch-up. Businesses seeking to stay competitive in the creative arena now have a strong new weapon at their disposal.
