Android 15 beta 2 Released NOW

Build Number

The new version has a build number of AP31.240322.027, and it uses the same April 2024 security patches as the first two beta releases.

Android 15 beta 2 Private space

In the second beta of Android 15, a new feature has been introduced known as the private space, which displays apps within a separate locked container. These apps are concealed from the recent view, notifications, settings, and other apps when the private space is locked.

Home and App drawer

Considering that many users struggle with crowded app drawers containing apps with lengthy names, even reducing the app grid to 5×5 may not suffice. Therefore, introducing a toggle to display full app names consistently in search results and the app drawer is a valuable enhancement.

Widget

Apps designed for Android 15 can now elevate widget experiences by offering Remote Views to the Widget Picker. This enhancement allows for personalized and contextually relevant widget previews, ensuring that users get a glimpse of content tailored to their preferences. Don’t suggest app

In the past, stopping the Pixel Launcher from suggesting apps required a workaround—dragging the app as if to delete it. Now, however, a more convenient option is available: the “Don’t suggest app” feature. This allows users to quickly and easily prevent specific apps from appearing in suggestions, streamlining the customization process and providing greater control over the home screen experience.

Volume controls

Android 15 Beta 2 introduces significant changes to the volume panel, including a new bottom sheet UI featuring a live captions shortcut and the capability to swiftly switch audio outputs. Despite these updates, the old volume panel UI persists in Beta 2, accessible via certain apps. However, it’s anticipated that this issue will be addressed in the stable build, ensuring a cohesive and streamlined user experience across the system.

Wall paper and style app

To access the Color contrast setting in Android 15, you can navigate to the Wallpaper & style section within the Settings menu. It’s worth noting that this setting will only appear in the Home Screen tab and won’t be accessible in the Lock Screen settings menu.

The new Color contrast feature offers extensive customization options, allowing users to adjust the contrast level with choices between medium and high settings. Additionally, users can enhance text contrast by selecting either white or black text background options. These options provide users with greater control over the visual appearance of their device, ensuring an optimal viewing experience based on their preferences.
