DUBAI, July 31, 2024 (WAM) — Digital Dubai, collaboration with government and private sector partners, has begun executing the Strategic Vision for the Data Centre Economy in Dubai. This vision, previously approved by The Executive Council, seeks to secure the emirate’s position as a pioneer in future economies driven by developing technology.
This initiative also supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to boost Dubai’s economic productivity by 50% through advancements in digital innovation.
Digital Dubai conducted a thorough and practical review of the present situation, indicating tremendous opportunities for stakeholders to collaborate. This would assist recruit and construct artificial intelligence data centres, boosting Dubai’s appeal as a top investment location.
Digital According to Dubai’s report, executing the strategic vision for AI-supported data centres is predicted to generate more than AED 14.3 billion in value by 2028 and create more job possibilities within the digital economy, notably related to data centres.
Adopting this strategic vision is expected to help Dubai prepare for next-generation technologies such as Web 3.0, which includes the Metaverse, Smart Cities, and the Internet of Things. It will also promote stronger connections with other sectors, such as sustainable artificial intelligence.
Digital Dubai is collaborating with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Municipality, the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism to implement coordinated measures. These efforts are designed to advance Dubai’s preparedness for the future economy and reinforce its leadership in this sector.
The strategic vision for AI-driven data centres represents a significant leap in digital leadership, the digital economy, and the establishment of a positive future for the emirate.
