Apple is making major improvements to call functionality with iOS 18, introducing native conversation recording and transcription capabilities to the Phone app.
This new feature eliminates the need for third-party apps while improving data security and ease of use.
Once this feature is available on iPhones, a new button will appear during calls to start recording.
How it will display
When you press this button, the other person will be notified that a recording has been made, and the call screen will display the recording’s duration.
The finished recording will generate a transcript that will be saved in the Notes app.
The new feature is not included in the latest iOS 18 developer beta.

However, it may become available in a subsequent beta or with the actual iOS 18 release, which is set to coincide with the iPhone 16 launch in late 2024.
