According to a recent report by Khaleej Times, Sharjah has announced a generous 35% discount on traffic fines, provided the payment is made within 60 days of committing the violation.
Motorists who settle their fines after 60 days but within one year will still benefit from a 25% discount. However, this initiative does not apply to serious traffic offences.

The announcement was made during a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council, chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council.
In addition to the traffic fine relief, the Council also approved a 50% reduction in government fees for entrepreneurs, covering 88 different economic activities as part of its broader support for the business community.

The 35% discount scheme was initially introduced in 2023 in Sharjah. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi continues to offer an ongoing programme that allows motorists to enjoy reduced traffic fines throughout the year.
