Public parking hours across the UAE have been revised for Ramadan.
Some emirates provide free periods for motorists, while others extend paid hours.
Prior to the start of Ramadan, changes across different facets take place in the UAE.
This guide covers all the updates to paid parking systems in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and Abu Dhabi.
Dubai
In Dubai, paid parking hours have been divided into two periods from Monday to Saturday to accommodate motorists’ needs during Ramadan.
According to the Roads and Transport Authority, parking fees will apply from 8 AM to 6 PM in the first period and from 8 PM to midnight in the second period.
Parking will be free between 6 PM and 8 PM on these days and will remain free all day on Sundays.
Meanwhile, multi-level parking facilities will continue to operate 24/7.

Sharjah
Sharjah has introduced longer paid public parking hours during Ramadan.
Motorists will incur parking charges from 8 AM to midnight, an extension of two hours compared to the regular 8 AM to 10 PM paid hours in other months.
As usual, parking will remain free on Fridays.
Ajman
Ajman has divided its paid public parking hours into two periods from Saturday to Thursday during Ramadan.
Motorists will be required to pay from 9 AM to 1 PM in the morning and from 8 PM to midnight in the evening.
Parking will be free between 1 PM and 8 PM.

Abu Dhabi
In Abu Dhabi, paid parking hours remain the same during Ramadan, with Mawaqif operating from 8 AM to 12 AM across the emirate.
However, toll gate hours (Darb) will be adjusted.
From Monday to Saturday, motorists will be charged during morning peak hours, from 8 AM to 10 AM, and evening peak hours, from 2 PM to 4 PM.
The toll gate system will be free on Sundays.
