Dubai has set up multiple Salik toll gates to regulate traffic on key roads. Salik, the RTA’s electronic toll system, automatically deducts fees from a prepaid account when vehicles pass through any of the ten designated toll gates across the emirate.
To promote accessibility and inclusivity, Salik offers an exemption program, enabling eligible residents and their families to apply for a toll waiver. This initiative supports Dubai’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all.
Who is eligible for Salik toll exemption?
If you have any of the following conditions, you may qualify for a Salik toll exemption:
- Mental disabilities
- Physical disabilities
- Autism
- Visual impairments

Additionally, close family members of a person of determination can apply for the exemption. Eligible relatives include parents, spouses (with a valid marriage certificate), children (with a birth certificate), grandparents, siblings, and grandchildren. These guidelines ensure that immediate family members can secure the waiver on behalf of the individual.
