From Cortana to Copilot: A New Voice for Windows
In a move that blends familiarity with new functionality, Microsoft is bringing back voice-activated AI with a simple phrase: “Hey, Copilot.” Just like its predecessor, this command wakes your digital assistant, now upgraded with the power of AI and deeply integrated into the Windows 11 experience.
The functionality is presently available for testing in Microsoft’s Windows Insider Program, a beta environment for evaluating new features. When enabled on your PC, you may start Copilot hands-free, which saves time and effort, especially when multitasking.
How to Enable “Hey, Copilot” in Windows 11
To get started with voice activation:
- Open Copilot
- Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner of the window
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to “Voice mode”
